Spurs Fan Selena Gomez Drops 1-Word Reaction on Taylor Swift’s Celebrations And Calls Out “Sudden” Knicks Fans

The San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks’ NBA Finals battle has become intense even among celebrity fans, and Selena Gomez has joined the fray. Game 4 was a star-studded night, with several celebrities sitting courtside, including Taylor Swift, supporting the home team at Madison Square Garden. However, Gomez, who seemingly watched the game from London, had a cryptic message for the fellow pop star and took a dig at “sudden” Knicks fans.

The popular pop star from Texas is a well-known Spurs fan, as she let her fans know on social media. She posted several stories on Instagram, showcasing her love for the team even though they trail the series 3-1. Meanwhile, Swift, who sat courtside with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, for a Cleveland Cavaliers playoff game (against the Knicks), came to the game in the home team’s colors.

When MTV shared that Swift and her friends, Mariska Hargitay and Alana Haim, celebrated the Knicks’ 107-106 win on Wednesday, Gomez was seemingly salty and commented with a one-word response:

    “lol.”

Gomez posted several stories on social media about the Knicks’ massive comeback and praised the team and the NBA for a magical finals series. However, she called out any “sudden” Knicks fans in another one of her stories and wrote:

“Happy for NY but my heart breaks just a lil. Mad respect for the game!! So funny how some are all the sudden fans though lol.”

Though it was unclear which way Gomez’s comment pointed, fans have speculated about a brewing off-court beef between the two. Meanwhile, the Knicks are on the verge of making history by winning a title after 53 years.

The Spurs return to San Antonio, aiming for a comeback

The Spurs are in a 3-1 hole from which only the Cleveland Cavaliers have managed to come out and win the final series in NBA history. Victor Wembanyama has not been at his best in the series, shooting 43.5%. The team has played stellar defense but failed to stop the raging Knicks in the final quarter.

Game 5 on Saturday in San Antonio will be crucial for the Spurs to survive for one more game. Winning three consecutive games against the Knicks, who have been at their best in the postseason, won’t be an easy affair. The team is more than capable of launching a comeback, but Spurs coach Mitch Johnson will need the support of the young core.
