The Atlanta Hawks have decided to play a game in collaboration with a strip club in the city named Magic City Strip Club on March 16. The decision has led to widespread criticism from fans and analysts about the NBA’s decision to allow such collaborations. NBA analyst Jason Whitlock openly condemned the Hawks’ management.
The Hawks Shop has teamed up with Magic City to release a limited-edition hoodie with a bolded, peach-colored ‘MAGIC CITY’ title on the front and Hawks and Peach logos on the sleeves. Whitlock took to his podcast ‘Fearless with Jason Whitlock’ and talked about the promotional event. In a video posted on X, he wrote:
“The Atlanta Hawks are honoring the greatest thing their culture has to offer, the infamous Magic City Strip Club. This promotion is symbolic of everything wrong not only with the NBA but with sports and culture in general. Promoting degeneracy and secular values is commonplace and even encouraged by the NBA and the media.”
Whitlock also added that the promotional event would make sure that there was nothing forbidden or something that people kept away from kids. He added:
“Let’s be real about what Magic City is. Magic City is whorehouse. And the NBA is now celebrating that, and we’re gonna have Lemon chicken wings. I have had the Lemon pepper chicken wings at the Magic City, they’re not that great.”
The March 16 game that will honor the city’s most popular strip club will also feature the rapper T.I. in the halftime show as well. The Magic City Strip Club is a notable one in Atlanta, founded in 1985. In the same year, the club even caught fire under mysterious circumstances, and the owner, Magic Barney, was imprisoned after that.
Besides Hawks, Jason Whitlock also launched fiery criticism of Stephen A. Smith
Jason Whitlock and Stephen A. Smith’s disagreement on public platforms is well known. When the NBA analyst defended Kevin Durant and his statements about the debate between European and American players.
Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant earlier stated that he did not like the criticism of USA basketball by fans who say that “the Euros do it right while the Americans do it wrong.” When Smith defended his take on his show, Whitlock was visibly upset. He said:
Stephen A. Smith is defending Kevin Durant after he said the NBA doesn’t like black Americans. Stephen A. Smith actually wants to blame ‘racist’ fans for the success of foreign players. I have zero respect for him.”
While the feud between analysts continues, the debate between European and American players in the NBA has led to several takes from fans on social media.
