Tyran Stokes’ Hysterical Gesture Hints At More Bad News for Kansas Faithful

Tyran Stokes continues to tease fans awaiting his commitment decision. Stokes pretended to unzip his jacket as one does while announcing their decision. However, instead of revealing his program of choice, he took a different route.

“I never did this before, but with that being said I will be committing to the Jordan Brand Classic,” Stokes joked.

The joke further fueled rumors that he is not considering joining Kansas. Stokes reportedly isn’t fond of Adidas, and Kansas being an Adidas school has reportedly hurt its chances of landing him.

The Kentucky Wildcats, a Nike school, are the frontrunners to land Stokes. Other programs in the mix were Louisville, Oregon, USC, and Gonzaga, but none of those is considered a realistic destination.

Fans react to Tyran Stokes teasing his commitment announcement

Tyran Stokes has been the center of attention in terms of the transfer portal so far. He has made his interest in Mark Pope’s Kentucky clear and has reportedly been on campus since March. However, there is still no confirmation from his side. This is starting to anger Kentucky fans, who demand some clarity from the No. 1 recruit.

Fans online were not pleased with Stokes’ joke and speculated he might still choose Kansas despite all the drama that has ensued.

“These kids are given way too much power….lol. I will ck back in November,” one fan stated.

“He’ll be wearing Adidas’ next week. But he hates the shoe,” another predicted.

“F*ck this guy. He’s going to Kansas. Oh no I surprised everyone,” one fan mocked.

“You have to leave the offer open to the number 1 HS player. But he’s not coming to Kentucky,” one fan claimed.

“That’s it. He’s going to Kentucky. He’s got that Mark Pope corny swag!!” another said.

“He hates Kentucky lol,” another commented.

“Stokes absolutely stood out and earned the MVP—he was aggressive, efficient, and physical—but it was against a diluted field rather than the absolute best the class had to offer. If the full roster had played heavy minutes, it would’ve been a different (and tougher) test,” one fan explained.
