Kentucky basketball fans are starting to lose patience with Tyran Stokes as he remains uncommitted. The No. 1 player in the 2026 class is currently on campus and generating major buzz, but has not confirmed whether he will join the program.
Stokes was spotted shooting around inside Rupp Arena. He shared glimpses of his visit on Instagram and made appearances at local spots with the coaching staff.
While some fans remain hopeful that he will join the program and lead it into a new era, others have grown tired of the drawn-out process.
“Please don’t be teasing us. Come home, Tyran,” a fan wrote.
“He milking this sh*t mannnn,” one fan wrote.
“That Kansas commitment edit gonna hit like crack,” another fan commented.
Another questioned whether Kentucky is simply being used as leverage in the NIL-driven recruiting landscape.
“Using us to drive up NIL with Kansas,” another wrote.
“He’s going to be another “locker room problem,”” another wrote.
Will Tyran Stokes Join Kentucky Basketball?
Despite all the attention and build-up, there’s still no indication of whether he is joining or when a decision might come. The battle between Kentucky and the Kansas Jayhawks has been well-documented. Kansas is widely viewed as the favorite, while Kentucky is making a late push and Stokes’ campus visit is proof that the Wildcats are firmly in the race.
Stokes has the potential to change the fortunes of a program. A 6-foot-7 forward with elite athleticism and playmaking ability, he represents the kind of talent that can reshape a roster overnight.
Another factor that could play a role in his decision is Kansas being an Adidas school. According to insider Krysten Leek, Stokes, who has a NIL deal with Nike, is not a fan of Adidas.
