The Texas A&M Aggies ended their regular season run with a 21-10 record, including an 11-7 run in the conference. They finished tied for number three in the Southeastern Conference with Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
After their 21-win season run, their SEC Tournament run ended in disappointment before it could even take off. The Aggies faced the Oklahoma Sooners in their first game of the tournament and lost 63-83.
Despite the early loss, the Aggies remained steady in March Madness conversations. Several bracket predictions have acknowledged their chances of making it to the NCAA Tournament bracket, which will be officially revealed in a few hours.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi added the Aggies in the bubble bracket in his recently updated bracketology. Texas A&M is listed alongside NC State, Santa Clara, and UCF on the ‘Last Four Byes’ list.
As per The Sporting News, the Aggies are going to be one of the No. 10 seeds. They have a KenPom rating of 39 and a NET rating of 44. The Aggies are listed as a No. 10 seed alongside NC State, Santa Clara, and Miami OH.
In the recent USA Today bracket update, the Aggies are listed as an 11 seed and will likely face North Carolina in the first round. There’s no denying that Texas A&M will make the bracket; it’s just a matter of their ranking now.
Their 21-win season run included five Quad 1 wins, which strengthened their resume for the season. Usually, when a team bags five Quad 1 wins in the season, they’re nearly guaranteed to make March Madness. The Texas A&M Aggies will reap the benefits of their hard work throughout the season.
Texas A&M Coach Has a Simple Message for His Team
Bucky McMillan joined the Texas A&M Aggies in 2025 after a six-year run with the Samford Bulldogs. In his first season, he has led the team to a possible NCAA Tournament appearance, which will be confirmed shortly.
This will be McMillan’s first run in the tournament, and he is going in with a simple yet effective philosophy. When asked what his message to the team ahead of the tournament was, he said:
“Be who you are. You don’t get to this time of the year to do something different.”
McMillan stated that the teams that know who they are usually perform the best, and he has experienced the same in his previous coaching stints.
