Top 10 Tallest Men’s College Basketball Players Likely to Make the 2026 NCAA Tournament Ft. Olivier Rioux

The 2026 NCAA Tournament is here, and there are a lot of players in the current lot with great potential for their future in the NBA. Some of these players are going to be the top draft picks in their class.

Their draft stock is soaring high due to the talent they possess and the growth they’ve shown in college basketball over the years. While a great basketball player doesn’t necessarily need to be freakishly tall, that aspect of their physique certainly helps them.

Being really tall on the court helps players control the game for their team. We’re witnessing the impact a tall player can make in modern-day NBA with Victor Wembanyama for the San Antonio Spurs. There are some players just as tall or taller than Wemby in college basketball.

    Tallest Men’s College Basketball Players

    Olivier Rioux – Florida Gators

    Height: 7’9

The Florida freshman is the tallest player in Division I basketball history. Rioux’s biggest advantage is his sheer size, which allows him to dominate the paint as a rebounder and shot blocker around the rim. Guinness World Records declared him the tallest teenager in the world in 2021, when he was 7’5.

    Aday Mara – Michigan Wolverines

    Height: 7’3

The Spanish center brings elite rim protection and length to Michigan’s frontcourt. Mara’s ability to block shots and control the defensive paint has made him one of the most impactful defensive big men in college basketball.

Zvonimir Ivisic – Illinois Fighting Illini

    Height: 7’2

Ivisic is a rare stretch big man who combines size with perimeter shooting ability. His height and skill set allow Kentucky to space the floor while maintaining a strong defensive presence in the paint.

    Motiejus Krivas – Arizona Wildcats

    Height: 7’2

The 21-year-old Lithuanian joined the Wildcats in 2023 and has established himself as a great rebounder and shot blocker. His ability to rack up points while grabbing rebounds and blocking shots makes him one of the most complete players on the lineup.

    Arafan Diane – Houston Cougars

    Height: 7’0

Diane is arguably the most physically dominant player in the country. He led the Adidas 3SSB circuit in rebounding last spring and summer. Diane is capable of dominating the game on both ends, making him a unique threat with his physical attributes.

    Adonis Ratliff – USC

    Height: 7’0

Ratliff is a four-star recruit with USC. He is a versatile forward known for perimeter finesse, ball-handling, and shooting. He is often compared to Kevin Durant, which speaks to the potential he has.

    Darius Ratliff – USC

    Height: 7’0

Darius has committed to USC just like his twin brother, Adonis. They’re both 7-foot-tall and possess similar skills. While Adonis plays forward, Darius is cementing himself at the center position.

    Marcis Ponder – Florida State

    Height: 7’0

A four-star recruit, Ponder averaged 9.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks while shooting over 50% from the field at West Oaks Academy. Even though he will improve his game in the years to come, Ponder’s potential is already on display.

    Cameron Williams – Duke

    Height: 6’11

Even though Williams misses the 7-footer mark by a small margin, he possesses skills that can potentially outshine all those ranked above him. While his talent and size is highly spoken of, what makes Williams more special is the coachability factor. He is eager to learn and is always looking for ways to improve.

    Babatunde Oladotun – Maryland

    Height: 6’10

A 2026 commit to Maryland, Oladotun is expected to be one of the star players for Maryland with strong defensive potential. His physique strongly backs that expectation while he continues to develop as a player.
