One of the players that the Big Blue Nation (BBN) will be keeping an eye on this season for Kentucky is Ousmane N’Diaye, with the Senegalese forward making his way to Lexington for the 2026-27 campaign. Speaking to his colleagues in the Kentucky setup, N’Diaye has now revealed the circumstances in which he said yes to the move to Lexington.
“I had a zoom call with coach Pope and my agent,” N’Diaye told his teammates.
“We knew it was gonna be that day but I didn’t know when exactly, and it was a six hour time difference. It happened when we were in the cinema. I went to watch the Michael Jackson movie so it happened and then during the movie my agent just texted me like ‘yeah you’re coming to Kentucky and they’re gonna take you … and you have to accept it’, and then it happened during the movie. At some point I couldn’t focus on the movie because everything was happening like (fast).”
Mark Pope Has Some More Tricks Up His Sleeve
It remains to be seen whether Mark Pope and Kentucky will add any more firepower to their team after the acquisition of N’Diaye, but there are definitely some positive signs for the Lexington outfit.
Malachi Moreno returned to Kentucky after initially declaring for the NBA draft, pulling out just in time to add some more flair to Pope’s attack, while the big signing of the summer was Milan Momcilovic out of the transfer portal after an incredible season at Iowa State.
Momcilovic also pulled out of the NBA draft in time, earning a huge contract with the Wildcats and an opportunity to lead Pope’s crew to the top of the SEC in the coming season.
