The San Antonio Spurs are in the NBA Finals, and most of their team has been formed from recent draft picks, including Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper. Both Wembanyama and Castle were Rookie of the Year, with the former also winning the Defensive Player of the Year this season.
The 2026 NBA draft provides another opportunity for them to bolster their young team further. Thanks to their trade with the Atlanta Hawks, they enjoy a selection inside the top-20 picks.
Full List of Spurs Draft Picks 2026
Round 1, Pick No. 20 (from Atlanta Hawks)
San Antonio can aim to draft Koa Peat from Arizona. The Spurs could use someone besides Wembanyama in the frontcourt and Peat’s toughness, rebounding, and defensive versatility could help him fit right in.
The 6-foot-8 star can defend multiple positions. The only concern about him is on the shooting side, as he has relatively struggled to convert baskets from outside consistently.
Round 2, Pick No. 35 (from Utah Jazz via Minnesota Timberwolves)
If Florida forward Thomas Haugh is still available in the early round, the Spurs have found their man. His high basketball IQ, floor spacing potential, and positional versatility are some of the traditional attributes Spurs value.
Haugh can help San Antonio by being versatile on the defensive side and also make ball more accessible to everyone else involved.
Round 2, Pick No. 42 (from Portland Trail Blazers via New Orleans Pelicans)
The Spurs have a preference when it comes to international talent and someone like Dame Sarr may form a perfect fit. His length, athleticism, and perimeter scoring make him a prospect the organization can nurture over time.
The Spurs likely won’t rush him to the NBA, as they have the players on the wing.
Round 2, Pick No. 44 (from Miami Heat via Indiana Pacers)
The Spurs can use this position to add some depth behind Victor Wembanyama. Instead of utilizing picks from their early first and second round, they can gamble on Italian center Luigi Suigo.
Suigo is good at rebounding and pick-and-roll finishing ability, but he is not fast or mobile. But that is ok because Wembanyama carries most of the workload and they could afford to take a patient approach.
