Latest UNC Commit Credits Mike Malone For His Recruitment
In late May, UNC secured a big win with the commitment of Terrence Brown. The shooting guard is rated a four-star, ranked 40th nationally and 10th in his position, according to Rivals.
The 6-foot-3 guard credited Mike Malone for taking good care of him throughout his recruitment, while also highlighting the reasons he committed to a former NBA championship-winning head coach.
“He’s just a straightforward and caring person,” Brown said about Malone. “How much of a heart he has is what I feel goes unnoticed. He’s an intense coach who’s all about winning and I love that. I know that he’ll push me to my limit, and that’s what I need from a coach to help me go to the next level. He has a real attention to detail because he obviously knows what he’s talking about.”
Brown chose North Carolina over Kentucky and Kansas. He also gave a shout-out to North Carolina assistant coaches.
“The assistants have won national championships there – Coach [Sean] May and Coach [Pat] Sully [Sullivan]. It’s a culture and family, that’s what made me lean towards them,” Brown added.
The latest remarks justify that even though Malone has no recruiting experience, his first stint as a college head coach is proving to be just fine.
