“Said The Same Thing About Marvin Bagley”: Fans React To Major Cameron Boozer Reveal Ahead Of NBA Draft

Cameron Boozer is one of the biggest names in the 2026 NBA Draft class. The son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, the 18-year-old has left a great impression during his time with the Duke Blue Devils.

Many believe that Boozer could be a top pick in the upcoming draft, ranging from No. 2 to No. 4 overall. Widely considered one of the most polished and NBA-ready players in his class, several franchises are lining up to sign him.

Boozer’s stocks recently went up after the NBA Draft Combine. The coveted No. 1 overall spot, which was nearly guaranteed to be AJ Dybantsa’s, is seemingly up for grabs now, and Boozer is the first in line to claim it.

“The analytics people in every NBA front office have Cameron Boozer as the No. 1 player in the draft, and he’s expected to receive serious consideration for the No. 1 or No. 2 pick,” as per Jonathan Givony.

“I think he’s going to be a 20-and-10 guy from day one, and I think he’s even going to make a run, potentially, at being an All-Star as a rookie.”

Some fans aren’t convinced that Boozer is going to take the top spot.

“I think they said the same about Marvin Bagley,” a fan wrote.

Bagley was the 2nd overall pick in the 2018 draft but he has switched teams six times already and hasn’t made any noticeable impact in the league.

“They tryna make ppl lose money betting on the first pick,” a fan wrote.

“Not saying that Cam Boozer will be a bust, but his weaknesses will be magnified going against NBA size and athleticism. No way he’s a “20-10 guy from day one” unless a team force feeds him the ball every possession. Analytics people,” a fan wrote.

“Did Cameron Boozer’s agent hack this account?” a fan wrote.

“Dude won’t be an all star at any point in his career this is such a ridiculous lie,” a fan wrote.

A lot of fans mocked the “analytics people” for coming up with the theories they believe are absurd.

Darryn Peterson on Why He Should be the No. 1 Pick

It’s not just AJ Dybantsa who’s gunning for the top spot. In fact, before Dybantsa became the heavy favorite, it was Darryn Peterson who was widely regarded as the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft.

Injuries, inconsistencies, and fitness issues dropped Peterson from the coveted spot, but he still believes he should be the No. 1 pick.

“I feel like I’m the best. Any team I feel like I’m placed on, I can go in and make an immediate impact on both sides of the ball,” he said on ESPN’s SportsCenter. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make my team better and help my team win.

We’ll soon find out who ends up becoming the No. 1 pick. As of now, it’s AJ Dybantsa in the lead.
