Mark Pope’s Kentucky Wildcats have 12 players on the roster. There are still three spots to be filled, and Pope has his sights set on some players.
Milan Momcilovic is one of those players. Momcilovic has entered the 2026 NBA Draft, but is open to returning to college for another season. The key factor in this case would be the feedback he receives from scouts and teams.
If Momcilovic decides to return to college basketball, Kentucky will likely be his choice. But Pope will still need other players to complement him. Another player Pope is reportedly targeting is Savo Dregzic, a 6’4, 200 lb guard who previously played for Georgia. After one season with the Bulldogs, he went to Europe to play for Mega Superbet. During the 2025-26 season, he averaged 15.4 points and four assists per game.
Drezgic is looking to return to college basketball and told KSR that Kentucky is interested.
“My agent is in contact with Kentucky,” he told KSR.
“His excellent debut season ended two days ago, and the decision regarding which university team he will continue his career with will be made in the coming days,” his agent, Misko Raznatovic, posted on X.
Even though joining Kentucky isn’t confirmed yet and Georgia could also be in the mix, Mark Pope would fancy his chances in this scenario.
Milan Momcilovic on Mark Pope’s System
The Momcilovic situation is also trending in the right direction for Mark Pope. The 6’8 sharpshooter recently talked about Pope’s system and explained why it would be the right fit for him if he returns to college basketball.
“I think Kentucky would be a good fit,” he told The Lexington Herald Leader. “I obviously went against Pope at BYU his first year (in the Big 12), and I loved how his team played. I think we went 1-1 against them, but they killed us at their place, because they fly the ball up the court and shoot 3s. I really like the way they play.”
Momcilovic said that Kentucky didn’t have great shooters last year, and if he joins the team, he will solve that part of the puzzle for Mark Pope.
