Kentucky Departees React After Mark Pope’s Daughters’ Instagram Roast

Mark Pope is never far from opinion and even controversy, and it appears that his daughters might be following suit.

Pope and his wife Lee Anne have four daughters, namely Ella, Avery, Layla and Shay, and they seem to have a mischievous streak in them. The quartet went viral recently for an Instagram reel posted via Layla’s account that targeted Kentucky’s roster from the 2025-26 season, specifically the players who left the college team.

Pope’s girls put sticky notes on the players who departed the team, with some comments on what they felt about them. It was clearly all in good fun, though not everyone felt the same way. A section of netizens questioned why the head coach’s daughters would do something like this.

And the reactions from some of the players who were part of the roster appear intriguing, with the comment section featuring what they had to say.

The players who commented are Brandon Garrison and Mouhamed Dioubate, both of whom left Kentucky via the transfer portal for seemingly greener pastures.

Where are Mouhamed Diabate and Brandon Garrison Playing Now?

Diabate joined Kentucky from Alabama in 2025, but after just one season under Mark Pope, he decided to enter the transfer portal and was picked up by LSU, where he will start his 2026-27 college season later this year.

As for Brandon Garrison, he joined Kentucky in 2024 after an impressive year at Oklahoma State, but decided to enter the transfer portal after a mediocre campaign under Pope last time out. He transferred to Alabama where he’s set to make his debut once the season kicks on.

The duo’s reactions seem harmless, but indicative that perhaps not everything needs to go on social media, especially when you’re connected as closely to one of college basketball’s most well known programs as Mark Pope’s four daughters are.
