Jason Whitlock, a sports journalist and podcaster, is known for his blunt, often controversial takes on a variety of topics. Host of ‘Fearless with Jason Whitlock’, his comments often lead to widespread and heated discussion in the media and among fans.
Recently, Whitlock took shots at CBS’s March Madness show over their selection of panellists. The show is hosted by Clark Kellogg, Renee Montgomery, Nate Burleson, and Charles Barkley.
Whitlock believes that the lineup isn’t fit for a show setup around the most exciting college basketball tournament. He only praised Kellogg as someone who he believes is the right man for the job.
“The CBS March Madness studio show is a joke. DEI has ruined everything. Clark Kellogg is the only person who deserves to be there,” he wrote.
Whitlock called Burleson an “inconsequential NFL player.” Burleson had a decade-long NFL career, and he now hosts several shows, including CBS’s March Madness coverage.
“This is a inconsequential NFL player,” he said. “He’s a football player that they’ve put on the CBS studio show in a DEI move…and now he’s hosting one of the biggest shows in college basketball, one of the biggest sporting events of the year.”
Whitlock believes that the decision to put the panel together was influenced by race, as they don’t have the necessary qualifications to host the March Madness spectacle. He took shots at Renee Montgomery as well.
Montgomery, being a part of the show based around the men’s basketball tournament, doesn’t sit right with him. As for Charles Barkley, Whitlock said that he’s only good for cracking up a few jokes every episode and that he doesn’t add any real value to the show.
Stephen A. Smith Responded to Jason Whitlock’s Comments
The people on the CBS panel aren’t the only ones Whitlock has a problem with. He has a longstanding feud with Stephen A. Smith, and at regular intervals, they keep reigniting that feud.
Whitlock recently called out Stephen A. and claimed that he has lied about his college basketball past.
“Anybody familiar with HBCUs, anybody familiar with Winston-Salem State, and how little money Winston-Salem State has and had back then? They’re not giving out scholarships on the spot to anybody. It’s all a lie, and I’ve done the homework,” he said.
Stephen A., in his response, didn’t mince his words.
“By the way, before we start the show, I don’t know the kind of mood I’m in…I just don’t know what will come out of my mouth this morning. … People been talking smack particularly about me, and I’m in kind of mind where I want to exhale and check some sorry bas***ds, and I will be doing that today,” he responded.
He also offered to start a GoFundMe page for Jason Whitlock, as he believes Whitlock only talks about him when he needs more attention.
