It’s that time of year again, and as Jalen Haralson is well aware, changes are happening around the league. Amid the chaos, Haralson is heading for the exit.
After one year with Notre Dame, the guard has seen all he needs to. The soon-to-be sophomore guard has decided to take his talents elsewhere, opening the door to many possibilities. The news was broken in a Thursday report by On3’s Joe Tipton.
With Haralson heading out, here’s a look at five teams that could end up employing his services.
Jalen Haralson Landing Spots That Make Logical Sense
#5 – Gonzaga Bulldogs
The Gonzaga Bulldogs are located a lengthy plane ride away from Notre Dame, but it might be what Jalen Haralson is looking for. The perennial playoff coach Mark Few would give Haralson plenty of opportunities for a spotlight over the next handful of years if he can capitalize in the playoffs.
#4 – Michigan State
If he wants to stay somewhat local, Jalen Haralson could join Michigan State. The team was able to get somewhat deep in the playoffs this year, and as such, the program would also afford a chance for a run in the next few years for the freshman guard.
#3 – UConn Huskies
The UConn Huskies are in the midst of yet another championship run under Dan Hurley, and as far as career consideration is concerned, it would not get any bigger for Jalen Haralson. However, would he be willing to move across the country to a tough-as-nails roster for a shot at greatness?
#2 – Michigan Wolverines
Conveniently for Jalen Haralson, the Michigan Wolverines are yet another program in the somewhat local area that has clawed its way deep into the Final Four.
After securing the No. 1 ranking in the country, the close proximity makes logical sense as a comfortable floor for Haralson, and the prospects of a run on his watch could be one of his best shots into the NBA.
#1 – Illinois Fighting Illini
The Illinois Fighting Illini are much more local than the UConn Huskies and have found themselves in the Final Four as well as in the playoffs. As such, the opportunity is seemingly as good as UConn over the next few years, but also more local.
Of course, with the program less guaranteed for a championship run than UConn, any future run would tie much more credit to Jalen Haralson, which could pay dividends down the road.
