Florida Gators head coach Todd Golden has had a great run in the last few seasons. He joined the Gators in 2022, took them to the NCAA Tournament the following year, and won the national title in 2025.
However, even when things are looking up on the court, it doesn’t take much for the internet to turn against you. Golden witnessed that after his picture with President Donald Trump went viral on social media.
Golden keeps his Instagram profile private, but one of his followers shared a screenshot of a selfie of the coach with the president. The picture didn’t sit well with some fans.
“This is embarrassing glad I’m not a Florida fan lmao,” a fan wrote.
“I already hated Golden but now I f**king can’t stand him,” a fan wrote.
“Not a good look for gator basketball :/” a fan wrote.
Not all fans were against Golden. Some made jokes about the visit, while others said that Golden must be planning his next White House visit.
“Making plans to celebrate Florida in the White House again, the preseason #1, and the schools inevitable 4th National Title,” a fan wrote.
“Gators for the 2027 March Madness champs,” a fan wrote.
“Seeing if Baron can play center,” a fan wrote.
It’s not clear if Golden actually posted the picture on his IG story, but it doesn’t take much for fans to react.
Florida Closed Todd Golden Title IX Investigation
Golden’s time with the Florida Gators hasn’t been great off the court. In November 2024, it was reported that Golden had been accused of sexual harassment and stalking by an unconfirmed number of women, including students.
He became the subject of a Title IX investigation. In January 2025, the university closed its investigation after finding no evidence that the head coach violated Title IX.
“The University of Florida takes these matters seriously and works deliberately to ensure that due process is upheld for everyone,” university spokesperson Steve Orlando said in a statement. After a thorough investigation that included dozens of interviews over the past months, the University of Florida has found no evidence that Todd Golden violated IX.”
The UAA praised Golden for demonstrating great focus and professionalism throughout the process.
