Is Elliot Cadeau Declaring for NBA Draft? Analyzing Michigan Guard’s Future Decision

Elliot Cadeau has not declared for the NBA Draft and is set to play his senior year with the Michigan Wolverines, who won this year’s NCAA Tournament.

There were multiple contributors to the Wolverines’ success throughout the season. Senior Yaxel Lendeborg was the main man for Coach Dusty May. However, Cadeau was also a vital player. The UNC transfer fit into Dusty’s plans right away. He started all 40 games for Michigan and averaged 10.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists. Michigan junior has recently made a decision that would please May and Michigan faithful.

“NEWS: Michigan and star point guard Elliot Cadeau have agreed to a deal for him to return for his senior year, he told ESPN. He was named Most Outstanding Player at the Final Four,” analyst Pete Thamel reported.

“Cadeau has won a national title at both the high school and college level. He projects as one of the top guards in college basketball next season. He averaged 10.5 points and 5.9 assists this season at Michigan,” Thamel added.

Fans react to Elliot Cadeau returning to Michigan Wolverines

Dusty May’s Michigan Wolverines made history, as they won the NCAA championship after a long wait of 37 years. Michigan and UConn locked horns in the national championship game, and the Wolverines were pretty comfortable most of the game. They won 69-63 in the end.

Michigan fans online were over the moon after hearing the news of Cadeau’s return. Some fans, however, questioned the decision.

“Michigan fans must be buzzing! Cadeau returning as a senior after that Final Four performance is huge. A true floor general, can’t wait to see what he does next season,” one fan claimed.

“Thought this guy said he was a future NBA all-star,” one fan wondered.

“North Carolina fans watching Elliot Cadeau win a ring, get MOP, and then sign a massive NIL deal to stay at Michigan must be a special kind of pain. He went from being labeled a bust in Chapel Hill to becoming the King of Ann Arbor,” another fan said.

“Huge for Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball. Getting Elliot Cadeau back after a run like that keeps them right in the title conversation,” one fan stated.

“Returning after a Final Four MVP season is rare confidence,” another commented.
