The Duke Blue Devils’ power forward, Cameron Boozer, is on a dream run in his freshman season. Averaging 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, he shoots over 56% from the field and nearly 41% from the three-point line.
Boozer led the 2026 AP All-American First Team. He was the unanimous choice among 61 voters. He led the Blue Devils to yet another ACC title win with a solid performance against the Virginia Cavaliers in the final.
Outside of basketball, Boozer is enjoying life with his girlfriend, Yva Lauren Cao. They first met in high school and have been dating since 2023. Lauren is currently a student and a cheerleader at the University of Miami.
Boozer and Lauren often post each other’s pictures on their social media accounts. The couple shares their vacation pictures, snapshots from their dates, and more. Boozer is also known for expressing his love for Lauren on social media.
The Miami cheerleader recently posted a media dump on Instagram, which included pictures with her friends, Boozer after the ACC title win, and more. The Blue Devils star commented on the post.
“When Yva posts its a good day,” he wrote.
Boozer comments on nearly every post by Lauren. Whether it’s a simple heart eye emoji, calling her beautiful, or complimenting her style, Boozer is hands-on with his boyfriend duties.
Cameron Boozer Doesn’t Care About Numbers
At this stage, players are usually developing as they try to figure out what their long-term role is going to be. Boozer seems to have figured things out early for himself. He is an elite multi-level scorer, a facilitator, a rebounder, and a team leader.
His numbers from his freshman season prove that the Duke forward is on track to cement himself as one of the best ever in program history. However, as per head coach Jon Scheyer, Boozer never worries about his numbers.
“He’s all about his teammates,” he said. “He’s not about numbers. He’s about winning. And I think when your best player’s that way, it becomes contagious, and it has a big effect on the rest of the group.”
His team-first attitude has helped the Blue Devils a lot this season. More importantly, it’s allowing other players to be the best version of themselves as their star player is only focused on winning games for the team, regardless of his contributions.
