Two seasons ago, Duke recruited Cooper Flagg, who is now one of the best rookies in the NBA right now, and then they followed it up with Cameron Boozer, who may also be picked No. 1 this year. The question now is, how will Jon Scheyer follow up these back-to-back recruiting successes? He recruited three five-stars this time.
For now, Duke has the No. 2 recruiting class with four commits, trailing only Michigan, which won the national title this year. More may be joining, and Duke may still be able to catch up, but they have already recruited a very potent frontline and a promising backcourt general.
Who Has Duke Recruited So Far From The High School Class of 2026?
PF Cameron Williams – 5 Star, No. 3 Overall – Signed
From St. Mary’s in Phoenix, Arizona, Williams continues the tradition of Duke recruiting elite power forwards who could shoot and rebound the ball, being absolute double-double machines. He will be the Cameron Boozer equivalent here, and with him projected to enter the NBA draft, Williams is seen to be the one taking over the starting 4 position.
SF Bryson Howard – 5 Star, No. 15 overall – Signed
While Williams is manning the paint, five-star Bryson Howard can slot in either as a shooting guard or a small forward, and he could play both quite well. He still has some room to grow as a combo guard, but he is an excellent shooter and can be a hard-nosed defender, which is what Jon Scheyer is looking for.
C Maxime Meyer – 4 Star, No. 84 overall – signed
Duke got another seven-footer, and that is four-star Maxime Meyer. He is still developing and lacks a lot of things, such as bulk and strength, but that is something the big man could grow into as he spends his time in college. He is known to be a rim protector and could rebound, but he still has to work on his scoring, averaging 9.1 points and 8.1 rebounds in 3SSB play.
PG Deron Rippey Jr. – 5 Star, No. 10 overall – committed
Unlike the other three, Rippey has not signed his letter of intention yet, which means he could still flip. However, should he stay with Duke, they are getting an athletic point guard who could defend the ball, force turnovers and also be able to shoot and wow the crowd with his explosive dunking abilities.
