Ahead of NBA Draft, Cameron Boozer Unlocks Unique Record as Duke Win ACC Title

Duke Blue Devils forward Cameron Boozer has earned a tremendously unique record with his team’s recent success, as it puts him in an upper echelon of NBA draft prospects in history.

On Saturday, March 14, Boozer and the rest of coach Jon Scheyer‘s 2025-26 Blue Devils team were going up against coach Ryan Odom’s Virginia Cavaliers for the 2026 ACC tournament title game on neutral grounds, the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As it stands, Boozer and Co. ended up defeating the Virginia-based program by four points, 74-70, to capture another conference tournament championship for the Blue Devils. In a post by college basketball reporter Adam Finkelstein, it was detailed that Boozer has actually now won every championship he has competed for ever since he entered high school, and now in college. It is then deemed to be an impressive feat that will boost his NBA Draft stock.

Boozer is expected to be a one-and-done talent this year for the Durham, North Carolina-based program, as he is projected to at least be a top-three pick in this year’s NBA Draft.

With him winning every high school title he has played for, Boozer can now add both the ACC regular season title and the conference tourney championship to his resume. In the win over the Cavaliers, Boozer dropped 13 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and a steal in 35 minutes of action.

Adam Finkelstein Believes Cam Boozer Should Be The First Pick Of The 2026 NBA Draft

In a CBS Sports broadcast before this year’s ACC tournament championship game, Adam Finkelstein was joined live by fellow collegiate hoops reporter Chris Hassel. Hassel then asked why Finkelstein believes that Cam Boozer should be ahead of the likes of BYU Cougars star AJ Dybantsa and Kansas Jayhawks standout Darryn Peterson as the top pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Finkelstein believes it’s because of Boozer’s winning mentality.

“ Well, I believe he’s in the discussion, and I think that more people need to acknowledge that he’s in the discussion. My rationale for that is in high school, he was the most successful player, and it wasn’t even close. I mean, to put it in perspective, Cameron Boozer was arguably the most successful high school player in history, at least modern high school basketball history. Chris, he won every single championship he played in,” Finkelstein said. (0:18)

“Four Florida State championships, three Nike EYBL championships, gold medal every time he put on the USA basketball jersey, and then a national championship as a senior in high school. It’s been more of the same here in college. He wins the ACC regular season…And if he does, if he continues to prove that he is just someone who drives winning at each and every step, I think he’s got to be in the discussion,” he continued.

Finkelstein clearly believes that Boozer is one of the most gifted players of this draft year.
