“They Got Long Claws”: Cam Boozer Reveals Cause of Gnarly Cuts After Duke Win

Duke Blue Devils forward Cameron Boozer recently detailed how he got the gnarly cuts on his biceps after a regular-season game against the NC State Wolfpack. On Monday, March 2, Boozer and the rest of coach Jon Scheyer‘s Blue Devils team defeated coach Will Wade’s NC State Wolfpack 93-64 on the latter’s home court, the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In a post by collegiate basketball reporter Brendan Marks on X/Twitter, Boozer was photographed at his post-game press conference with deep and bloodied cuts on his biceps. The freshman was asked about them, and he jokingly said that it’s because the opposition had long claws, alluding to their Wolfpack moniker. Boozer went on say that the cuts defined the game for him, as it was an all-out effort by him and his team.

“It was some point in the second half with one of their big men. And just the Wolfpack got me, you know? They got long claws so, I mean, it just goes to show our fight. It tells me about this game,” Boozer shared.

Fortunately for Boozer and company, they ended up defeating the Wolfpack in away territory by a staggering 29 points, 93-64, as the Blue Devils led in double digits in both halves of the matchup. This gave the Durham, North Carolina-based program its 28th win of the season in just 30 games (16-1 ACC), as they continue their domination of this year’s conference play, with the 2026 NCAA tournament nearing its start date.

Along with the victory, the Blue Devils have also earned the right to be this year’s ACC regular-season champions as they have clinched the No. 1 overall seed in their conference. A lot of credit goes to Boozer, who has led the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists all year long.
