It is official, former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is coming to Oregon. With Dante Moore possibly going to the NFL as the possible No. 2 pick, Dan Lanning has secured his replacement in Raiola, who is one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the transfer portal right now. Raiola turned things around for Nebraska, but after a season-ending injury, he announced that he was entering the transfer portal, eventually going to Oregon.
Oregon has a good history of producing star NFL quarterbacks, with Dan Lanning being known to be good in quarterback development. However, fans were not very impressed with them getting Dylan Raiola, who is known to be a massive Patrick Mahomes fan and modeled his game after the Chiefs star QB.
“Oregon fans have fun with the mahomes wannabe!” one fan commented.
“Oregon fans, how does this get you closer to a championship next season? Do you believe that Raiola can speed up his processing and delivery?” asked one commenter.
“Oregon fans be like, We just wanted a QB, not the next Picasso of passing. Meanwhile Raiola about to paint the end zone everyday,” one optimistic person stated.
“Dylan Raiola better step his game up in Oregon. Ducks need a strong quarterback,” one Ducks fan added.
“Oregon fans gotta defend temu Mahomes and all his impersonations now lol,” one doubter noted.
“Dylan will be the backup this season to develop behind Dante. Oregon develops NFL QB’s. Will be interesting to see Dylan’s progression a year from now,” said one fan who believes Dante Moore will not declare for the NFL Draft.
If Dylan Raiola Becomes A Starter, He Will Be Latest Transferee To Become Starter
While Dan Lanning has gotten much praise for his quarterback development, he has not been developing players originally from Oregon, but transferees. Should Dylan Raiola become Oregon’s new QB1, he will be the fourth straight transferee to become the Ducks’ starting quarterback.
Lanning has had success developing transfer quarterbacks into stars, and fans are hoping Raiola will be the latest among them. Anthony Brown originally came from Boston College, Bo Nix came from Auburn, Dillon Gabriel transferred from Oklahoma, and Dante Moore was from UCLA originally.
