The Indiana Hoosiers made it to the national championship game after dominating the No. 5 Oregon Ducks in the Peach Bowl on Friday.
Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza showed why he won the Heisman, delivering another standout performance for the Hoosiers. However, the game’s cameras were a little more interested in his aunt. The broadcast often panned to Mendoza’s family, focusing specifically on his aunt.
As expected, this generated a buzz among fans, who expressed their love for Mendoza’s aunt, who was sitting beside her sister, Elsa.
“Fernando Mendoza’s aunt was the real MVP of the Peach Bowl,” claimed one admirer.
“Haha, sounds like the cameraman really has a soft spot! That’s some genuine vibe right there. It’s cool when moments like this sneak into the shot without planning,” one person pointed out.
“Yes !!! I noticed that too! Lol! She’s cute as a button. Boy, do she and the mom look alike ! 🤯,” another X user admitted.
“well not only the camera man but the director who calls the shots on what goes live from the many cameras…” added another person.
“What? No one hating on the fact that they showed the Mendoza family multiple times during the game? Where’s all the folks who said showing Taylor Swift at Chiefs games was taking away from the game? Losers, all of you. This is a cool moment for the Mendoza’s!” said one person.
How Well Did Fernando Mendoza Play During the Peach Bowl vs. Oregon?
The Heisman winner was dominant against Oregon, leading the Hoosiers to a comfortable win and a spot in the national title game against the Miami Hurricanes.
Mendoza threw 20 passes and was on target 17 times for 177 yards and five touchdowns. He also had no interceptions.
He is widely tipped to be the No. 1 pick if he declares for this year’s NFL draft.
