Despite his busy schedule as he prepares the Colorado Buffaloes for the 2026 season amid a staff overhaul, head coach Deion Sanders still has some time to spend with his family. In particular, he is often seen playing with his grandson, Snow, who was born to his daughter Deiondra Sanders in August 2024.
In a hilarious video posted by Deion Jr.’s Well Off media, the elder Sanders was seen playing with Snow and teaching him how to catch a ball by using a duck plushie. However, the toddler was not as cooperative as Coach Prime’s players and was either dropping the ball or throwing it away, which could be bad in the game of football. In response, his grandfather joked that he would be forcing him to enter the transfer portal.
“Yeah, I’m gonna put him in the portal,” Sanders joked. “Yeah, I have to put him in the portal, he don’t wanna learn.”
At that time, the rest of the family was already cleaning up after dinner, so it was up to Coach Prime to act as a babysitter for a while, and this was when the interaction happened.
While he was playing with Snow, several Sanders family members could be heard laughing in the background as Snow walked away from his grandfather, with one replying that he “cannot” place Snow in the portal.
Of course, being a toddler, Snow Sanders is not eligible yet, so he has plenty of time to learn football from his grandfather and his uncles.
Deion Sanders Reflects on Last Season’s Mistakes
Last season, the Buffaloes finished with just three wins, prompting a staff overhaul with new offensive and defensive coordinators. This also made head coach Deion Sanders reflect on the mistakes he had made while building the team, especially with the quarterbacks.
“I made a big mistake, man,” he told ESPN. “You’ve got to understand it. I’ve coached my son my entire life. So everything was like, compared to that. It’s hard to get. That’s why they [quarterbacks] make the most money in the NFL and college NILs as well. But I never had that thought process until a season ago.”
Brennan Marion will now be taking over as the new offensive coordinator and will implement the new “Go-Go” offensive system, which has been described as a high-tempo style of play.
