Lane Kiffin has been in the news over the last few months. Initially, it was because of his run with the Ole Miss Rebels. Then he decided to leave Ole Miss for the LSU Tigers, and it created one of the biggest storylines of the season.
Now, Kiffin has more attention on him than he ever had before. The Tigers’ head coach doesn’t have to do much to become a topic of discussion or get criticized.
Kiffin recently posted a picture of two hats with “MAKE BATON ROUGE GREAT” written on them on his social media handle. In the now-deleted version of the post, Kiffin had tagged President Donald Trump.
The message on the hats is similar to Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan. After some backlash, Kiffin deleted the post only to repost the hats. This time, Kiffin only tagged LSU Football. Still, it didn’t stop fans from coming after him.
“Coach, this is just gross. What a huge disappointment,” a fan wrote.
“Kiffin choosing to publicly je*k the president during a time where his masked secret immigration police are terrorizing people of color is f**king choice. I’ll say it F**K LANE KIFFIN,” a fan wrote.
“This is where your time and energy is going 🤣 your team just lost to Houston lmaooooo,” a fan wrote.
“This was so f**king stupid of you. You crushed it in the portal, but now you have completely betrayed and pissed off most of your players and a large majority of the LSU fan base who is repulsed by DJT. Real f**king smart, coach!” a fan wrote.
It’s shocking how people’s opinion on Kiffin as a head coach changes based on his political ideology. Fortunately, not everyone was on the same side.
“U shouldn’t have deleted the original tweet just cause it offended the woke pussies in the fan base,” a fan wrote.
“It was funny, people are way too delicate, and sensitive these days. Stop being triggered over every little thing and have some fun,” a fan wrote.
Some fans didn’t like the fact that Kiffin had to delete his old post. Overall, the image of two hats has brought a lot of criticism his way.
Lane Kiffin Continues to Stack Up the LSU Roster
Lane Kiffin has been busy throughout the transfer portal, probably more than any other coach in college football. Before he makes his coaching debut with the Tigers, Kiffin is making sure he has the best roster in the country.
So far, he has signed nine of the top 100 players in the transfer portal. QB Sam Leavitt, OL Jordan Seaton, EDGE Princewill Umanmielen, Safety Ty Benefield, and IOL Devin Harper have all been new additions.
Kiffin has been dubbed ‘The Portal King’ because of the quality and number of players he has added to LSU this year.
