Oregon Ducks tight end Kenyon Sadiq is a borderline first-round selection, but if he manages a record time in the 40-yard dash at the 2026 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, he might assure his selection on Day 1 of the NFL draft.
According to several draft analysts, Sadiq is projected to record his 40-yard dash in the low-to-mid 4.5s range at the NFL Scouting Combine. If he manages such speed, coupled with a reported vertical jump north of 40 inches, he could be among the elite tight ends in this year’s draft.
Breaking Down Kenyon Sadiq’s Expected Speed and Draft Impact
Kenyon Sadiq stands at about 6’3″ and 245 lbs, which is relatively lighter when compared to traditional tight ends. But his speed and agility make up for that. His lighter figure is a big reason for his expected sub-4.6 s speed in the 40-yard dash.
While his college production isn’t that great, his athletic traits make the scouts excited about him. A high-end 40 time or overall testing performance could boost Sadiq’s draft stock from a borderline first-rounder to a more assured Day 1 selection. However, if he goes any slower, it could be detrimental to his draft stock.
Kenyon Sadiq’s Honest Reflection on Blocking Skills
Given his light figure, many can easily mistake Kenyon Sadiq for not having great blocking skills while on attack. However, Sadiq is here to set the record straight. At the 2026 NFL Combine, he said:
“Obviously, I think I’ve done a great job on the perimeter. Point of attack blocking, I feel like I do a great job for being my size as well. I kind of made that a point of emphasis coming into college,” Sadiq said via HuskiesWire’s Alex Katson. “But the NFL is different. There’s definitely a need to improve the point of attack blocking.”
The Ducks have had six consecutive NFL drafts where they have recorded a first-round pick since 2020, when quarterback Justin Herbert was picked sixth overall. This year, Sadiq is their best candidate to extend that streak to seven consecutive NFL drafts. He had a solid year with the program, recording eight receiving touchdowns and 560 receiving yards.
