Colorado OT Jordan Seaton is one of the most coveted players left in the transfer portal, and several teams have already shown interest. This includes the Florida Gators, a program worth $975 million, with some very high-profile boosters willing to give the school some NIL money to make the team stronger. One of these boosters is high-powered attorney and Florida alum Hal Lewis, who shared a new detail about Seaton’s transfer portal bid.
This was revealed by NIL expert Darren Heitner, who said that Jordan Seaton’s camp is asking interested schools for at least $2.5 million. The offensive tackle is a late entry to the transfer portal but is a former five-star recruit from the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida, which means he should feel right at home in The Swamp.
Seaton is considered the biggest transfer portal loss for head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes, which suffered a devastating season, ending with a 3-9 record just after standouts like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter left for the NFL. He was once seen as one of Deion Sanders’ best recruiting successes, but the dismal season with Colorado may turned him off the program, even though he played excellently as a freshman.
His exit forces Colorado to rebuild its offensive line, as Deion Sanders originally planned to build it around Seaton in order to protect their quarterback, Julian Lewis.
Oregon Ducks Also Reportedly Targeting Jordan Seaton
It is not just Florida that seems to be targeting Jordan Seaton from the transfer portal, but also another team known for having boosters with deep pockets, the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks is often boosted by Nike co-founder Phil Knight, who is not shy in saying that he wants the team to win the Natty.
The Ducks will need to replace senior OTs Alex Harkey and Isaiah World, who are already out of eligibility. However, other teams have also expressed interest in Seaton, including the Texas Longhorns, Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders. The team does have a lot of backing though, so it may win that bidding war, though so do other teams like Florida, Texas, LSU and Miami.
