Jayden Aparicio-Bailey, a four-star safety, has set a commitment date and finalized two teams. As per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, the 6’2, 195 lbs star will announce his commitment on June 27 on the Rivals YouTube channel.
There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Aparicio-Bailey’s commitment because he’s ranked No. 9 in the country. Previously, he had narrowed his choices down to five schools: Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, and South Carolina.
Now, there are only two teams, Clemson and Georgia. These are two of the best programs in the country; they have won national titles in the last decade, and they have exceptional coaches who can help Aparicio-Bailey become a great player.
There isn’t a stark difference between the two programs. One thing that stands out for Georgia is the fact that they have been more consistent, as compared to Clemson, in the last few years.
Clemson didn’t miss a single playoff appearance from 2015 to 2020. But since then, they’ve only been to the playoffs once, in 2024. Georgia, on the other hand, has only missed one playoff, in 2023, in the last five years.
Aparicio-Bailey has visited both programs recently, and he shared his thoughts in a conversation with DawgNation. He said that his visit to Clemson “went super well” and he felt very comfortable around players and staff.
When he visited Georgia, he got to see a different side.
“Those were the best parts of my visit because I got to see a different side of Georgia,” he said. “The real side from the player’s aspect.”
What stood out to Aparicio-Bailey was that “there’s no fakeness there.” When he asked one of the players what the worst thing about Georgia was, he was told, “It is just hard.” He took it as a “good-bad thing” because that atmosphere can help shape an athlete.
Jayden Aparicio-Bailey Believes Both Programs Fit His Play Style
Narrowing down his list to Georgia and Clemson might’ve been an easy task for Jayden Aparicio-Bailey compared to where he is right now. He believes that both programs fit his play style, and both coaches, Dabo Swinney and Kirby Smart, will be great for him.
“Different ways to skin a cat. But I really like both philosophies. They both are schools with morals that fit my family and me, so it is going to be a tough decision,” he told DawgNation.
Aparicio-Bailey will take his time and talk to people around him before making the announcement. Since both programs offer similar things in terms of game and philosophy, he will make his decision based on where he will be the happiest.
