“Next Tom Brady!”: Fans React as Fernando Mendoza Crashes Jimmy Fallon’s Show After Historic Title Win

It’s been a few days since Fernando Mendoza won the national title with the Indiana Hoosiers. Mendoza and Co. defeated the Miami Hurricanes 27-21, on their home ground, to be crowned the national champions.

The victory lap is far from over. Mendoza and the Hoosiers are part of every football conversation, and the quarterback is making appearances to celebrate what was a dominant season, both individually and as a unit.

Mendoza recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The 2025 Heisman Trophy winner crashed the host’s monologue, which is a recurring theme of the show, and played a ‘record-breaking’ game. Literally.

Fallon threw vinyl records in the air, and Mendoza had to try to break as many as he could with footballs in under 30 seconds. He broke eight records. A video of the segment from the show was posted on X, which garnered some high praise from fans.

Some fans compared Mendoza to the great Tom Brady, stating he might be the next QB to take over the game. Others stated that they’re already getting tired of seeing Mendoza everywhere. If they are Miami fans, the frustration is understandable.

“Next Tom Brady!” a fan wrote.

“Fernando Mendoza such a nice dude I think he practices how to be nice before tv appearances,” a fan wrote.

“I am tired of him already. He’s wildly overexposed,” a fan wrote.

“This guy completely reinvigorated college football. What a story!” a fan wrote.

“Mendoza talks like if Gronk had an IQ,” a fan wrote.

Mendoza recently made the official announcement that he’s declaring for the NFL Draft. The Indiana quarterback is widely expected to be the number one draft pick.

Fernando Mendoza is Focused on His Goal

The NFL is the ultimate goal for every aspiring football player in the country. Players go through high school and college football stints as preparation for the big league. Mendoza is nearly there now.

It has taken a lot of effort and hard work from him to be recognized as arguably the best QB in the country today. Mendoza has talked about how he manages to avoid any form of distraction so he can be completely focused on football. That includes staying single.

“With the girls, it can be very distracting,” Mendoza said. “You might find your ‘first love’ in college, but I know that if I finish class at 6, I’m gonna give my everything, my all [to practice]. So, if I have a girlfriend, I’m gonna give her my all.”

The QB stated that it’s more important for him to watch film than going out for dinner and parties because he has a small window to prepare for the NFL and eventually be one of the best in the league.
