Dylan Raiola is going to Oregon. The former five-star recruit recently made the announcement on Instagram. The quarterback started his college football journey with the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2024.
Raiola has shown flashes of brilliance in the two seasons he spent in Nebraska. Unfortunately, injuries have been a major concern and roadblock in Raiola’s showcasing his full potential in college football.
After the Cornhuskers 2025-26 season came to an end, Raiola announced that he’d be entering the transfer portal. He instantly became one of the most highly touted quarterbacks available on the market.
It was only a matter of time before a program brought him in, and the Oregon Ducks have managed to do that. Raiola’s transfer announcement on Instagram received mixed reactions from fans, but he has the support of his girlfriend, Skarlett Jones.
“so proud of you,” she commented on the post.
In 2024, Raiola started getting Patrick Mahomes comparisons for a similar playing style, mannerisms, and even haircuts. That propelled his popularity to another level, and he backed all the hype with a 2800+ yards season.
He went 275 of 410 for 2819 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. In 2025, Raiola showcased improvements in his game, going 181 of 250 for 2000 yards, 18 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
Unfortunately, his season was cut short after just nine games. In November, Raiola suffered a broken fibula during the game against the USC Trojans, which ended his season prematurely. After his full recovery, he’ll be back with a new team.
Where Would Dylan Raiola Fit in the Oregon System?
The Ducks are currently reeling from the Peach Bowl loss against the Indiana Hoosiers. Oregon went to the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs, where they suffered a brutal 22-56 loss against Indiana.
The program would like to build on the momentum heading into the next season, and signing Raiola is a good sign for their future. However, they can’t have two starting quarterbacks in the lineup as the Ducks already have Dante Moore.
There are rumors surrounding Moore, claiming that the quarterback will soon declare for the NFL Draft. As of now, there’s no confirmation on his decision to move on from college football.
However, Oregon bringing in Raiola hints at the possibility of Moore not coming back with the Ducks next season. It’s highly unlikely that he’ll play for another program, which further increases the chances of declaring for the NFL Draft.
