After taking the Miami Hurricanes to the NCAA Championship game, Carson Beck is moving on to the next phase of his career. The former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback was selected with the 65th overall pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
Beck’s sister and former Georgia cheerleader, Kylie, took to Instagram and celebrated her brother’s achievement. She reshared a graphic that stated about Beck heading to Arizona and cheered for the Cardinals:
“CMON Cardinals!!”

Beck spent six years in college football. He started with Georgia, who won two national championships when he was part of the team. After hurting himself in the SEC Championship game, Beck decided to leave Georgia and ended up transferring to Miami, where he reached new highs, including throwing a season-high 30 touchdown passes. In the national title game, his Canes lost the game to Indiana, 27-21.
With the Cardinals, Beck is expected to be the backup quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett after the team released Kyler Murray.
Carson Beck Openly Speaks About Relationship Troubles
When Carson Beck decided to transfer to the Miami Hurricanes, many believed it was a romantic gesture to be closer to his girlfriend Hanna Cavinder. Just a few weeks after the move to Miami, it was reported that Beck and Hanna had broken up.
After their breakup, people speculated about the reason that brought an end to their relationship. This all overwhelmed Beck, who was going through a lot in his life, including the injury from the SEC Championship game looming large over his final season.
“You make mistakes as a person, but it sucks that you have to go through something like that with someone that you care about, and now it’s all over the Internet,” Beck told ESPN. “Half of what you see in the media is true. Half of what you see is not true. So, people pick their side of the story and run with it. The people that know the truth know the truth.”
At the time, Beck revealed that since the breakup, he had not once talked to Hanna. The Canes quarterback welcomed this experience as it gave him lessons.
“I’ve been able to connect to myself more, and find who I am, and really do some soul searching,” he said. “It’s hard to say that I’m thankful for it all, but I am because I wouldn’t be the person that I am today without all of these things that have happened.”
Beck sure used that extra motivation to put great numbers in his final college football season. Now, he hopes to continue with that effort in his professional career.
