After four years at Clemson, quarterback Cade Klubnik announced on Wednesday that he will be entering the 2026 NFL draft. This essentially ends his college football career as he becomes a pro after making 916 of his career passes for 10,123 yards with 73 touchdowns, along with 878 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. He also took to social media to pen a heartfelt message to say goodbye to the school he spent four years at.
As he leaves Clemson to enter the NFL, Cade Klubnik’s fiancée, Macey Matthews, commented on his post about leaving his school and telling him how much she loves him as he decides to turn pro.
“I love you Cade!!! 🤍 the most special heart I know ,” she said.

The two officially got engaged ahead of the New Year, with the two having been dating for a long time. They are high school sweethearts, with Matthews following him to Clemson when he committed to the school. She is a very private person, but she is often seen cheering for him during the team’s games.
Macey Matthews used to be a cheerleader for Cade Klubnik’s old high school football team, and that is where they met. As she entered college, she studied marketing so that she could be near her then-boyfriend.
What Cade Klubnik Said In His Farewell Message To Clemson
Leaving a place where you spent four entire years of your life can be tough, so when Clemson’s senior QB1, Cade Klubnik, penned his farewell message to the school, its faculty, staff and his teammates, it was a very emotional farewell.
“Thank you for taking a 17-year-old kid who grew up 17 hours away in Austin, TX, and shaping me into the man I am today. Thank you for the hundreds of incredible relationships I’ve built and the thousands of unforgettable moments. Thank you for always believing in me and truly becoming my second home,” he said.
He also thanked his coaches, who pushed him to be the best quarterback that he can be and said that he is appreciative of their support. Cade Klubnik also thanked his teammates for the friendship and camaraderie they had and stated that they have shown “true grit and perseverance.” He ended his message by thanking his family and close friends before declaring his entry to the draft.
