“The Most American Thing I’ve Ever Seen” – White Sox’s Triple-A Affiliate Hosting National Anthem Singing By Ronald McDonald Shocks Fans

There was an unexpected celebrity guest, singing the national anthem ahead of the Charlotte Knights’ (White Sox triple-A affiliate) home game at Truist Field. America’s own, a staunch patriot, Mr. Ronald McDonald, shocked the fans inside the stadium as he took the microphone and sang the Star-Spangled Banner with great intensity.

Spectators rose in front of their seats, admiring the sight of America’s No. 1 fast-food chain’s iconic mascot reciting the national anthem before the start of the game. The baseball fraternity was quick to notice the viral video from Truist Field and share their reactions on social media.

“America is a joke right now! It’s only right that a clown sings the national anthem!” one fan commented.

“This is the most American thing I’ve ever seen,” another fan commented.

“Going to be crazy when Ronald sings the national anthem at the World Cup final,” yet another fan commented.

Some other fans shared their hilarious take on the viral moment.

“When they ask you to book Michael McDonald but you hear what you wanna hear,” one fan commented.

“Aw Ken Rosenthal has a nice voice,” another fan commented.

“McDonald’s will do anything but have the CEO actually eat a burger,” yet another fan commented.

The Knights went on to lose 6-7 to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, with the series tied at 1-1 and four games to go. Meanwhile, in the Major Leagues, the White Sox have made a decent start to the 2026 campaign, acquiring the third spot in the AL Central division, just two games behind the divisional leaders, the Cleveland Guardians.

White Sox Riding on the Murakami Magic This Season

Chicago has been playing aggressive baseball this season. The offense has been firing on all levels while the bullpen rotation has been fairly decent, containing losses. Japanese star Munetaka Murakami has been the star of the show on most nights for the ballclub. The former Japan Series champion signed a two-year, $34 million contract with the White Sox during the offseason.

With just a month into the new season, Murakami has already crushed 14 home runs, with 28 RBIs, a .237 batting average, and a .934 OPS in 37 games. He is on course to hit a whopping 61 home runs and register 123 RBIs this season.

Undoubtedly, his current form has made him the front-runner for the AL rookie of the year award. And should the Japanese slugger continue his red-hot form, then we could truly be looking at an MVP-worthy season in his rookie year.
