The Chicago Cubs vs. the Texas Rangers game on Friday night was delayed after Kumar Rocker arrived on the mound wearing white compression sleeves under his jersey.
The officials instructed the Rangers’ starting pitcher to change the underneath shirt because pitchers are not allowed to wear white sleeves or undershirts. This type of wardrobe could make pitches harder for hitters to see.
In MLB, pitchers are being asked not to wear anything white or grey, especially near their loading and release point, as the hitters could lose visibility of the baseball due to matching colors.
After he returned in a gear compliant with league norms, the game was allowed to resume.
