The Los Angeles Dodgers will visit the White House this month to meet President Donald Trump and celebrate their second straight World Series win last season.
The visit will take place on July 23, according to the New York Post. It will be an off-day on the Dodgers’ schedule, sandwiched between a three-game series against the Phillies and a three-game set with the Mets on an East Coast road trip.
“President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers BACK to the White House to celebrate their World Series championship!” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said in a statement.
The Dodgers have also issued a statement following their confirmation regarding their visit to DC.
“As was the case one year ago, the Dodgers’ upcoming visits to the White House and Capitol Hill follow the longtime tradition of visits by other World Series champions. We appreciate these tributes in recognition of our back-to-back championships,” the Dodgers said in a statement to The Post.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has previously stated that he intends to go with the team to the White House, following years of tradition for World Series winners.
Earlier, there were fears that the Dodgers may not go to the White House at all, as despite their visit to the capital earlier in April for the series against the Washington Nationals, they couldn’t fit in a schedule to make a trip.
Donald Trump Once Called Dodgers Star Shohei Ohtani a “Movie Star”
For their 2024 World Series victory, the Dodgers celebrated at the White House in April 2025. During the visit, Donald Trump hailed Shohei Ohtani’s good looks.
“He looks like a movie star,” Trump said. “He’s got a good future, I’m telling you.”
Trump also hailed Dave Roberts, calling him “one of the greatest managers ever to wear the Dodger blue.” The POTUS also wished them luck to win the World Series in 2025, which the Dodgers did.
At the visit, Trump was gifted a custom jersey with his name and No. 47 on the back by Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw and owner Mark Walter.
Aside from that, the Dodgers are having another great season, holding the best record in the majors (61-33). They just defeated the Colorado Rockies in a three-game series at Dodger Stadium and are now preparing to host the Arizona Diamondbacks for another three-game series. They will then fly to New York for a three-game series against the Yankees.
