Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns have started working on the next season after an underwhelming run last year. Despite having one of the strongest rosters, the Longhorns failed to live up to expectations.
This year, they have added several players and are looking better than ever. One of the biggest additions to the team’s roster was Cam Coleman, a star wide receiver who previously played for the Auburn Tigers.
When Coleman announced that he’d enter the transfer portal, there was a huge uproar among Texas fans, demanding that the program sign him. The picture became clearer when Parker Livingstone decided to leave the Longhorns.
Coleman officially transferred to Texas on January 11, 2026. Although he hasn’t had the opportunity to showcase his talent in Texas colors yet, he’s making big moves and grabbing headlines with those decisions.
The star WR recently signed an NIL deal with Nike, a footwear and clothing giant worth $31.6 billion.
“Nike and the University of Texas are announcing the addition of 16 top Longhorns athletes to Nike’s new Blue Ribbon Elite NIL program, empowering a new generation while expanding one of the most iconic partnerships in college sport,” Nike said.
Coleman is now part of a growing roster of NIL athletes. As per early 2026 estimates, Coleman’s NIL valuation stands at a staggering $2.9 million. Coleman has proved that he’s worth the hype with his 2025 season performance.
He recorded 56 receptions for 708 yards and five touchdowns in 2025. During his entire Auburn stint, he had 93 catches for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 14 yards per reception.
Arch Manning’s Head Coach Detailed the Toughest Part of His Job
Last season, the Texas Longhorns had one of the best teams. At the start of the season, they were seen as legitimate title contenders, and their star quarterback, Arch Manning, was seen as an early Heisman favorite.
Nothing worked out the way the Longhorns would’ve expected. Steve Sarkisian has started working on building an even better team this year. Finding great players isn’t the real struggle for him; the hardest part of his job is making them play as a team.
“I touched on that with the team (in January). I looked around the room, and I said, ‘We’ve got a very talented group of individuals in this room, and now our job is to become a really talented team’,” he said.
With a motivated team that has something to prove, Sarkisian and Co. might get the job done this year.
