Carnell Tate NFL Draft Projections: 5 Potential Landing Spots for Ohio State’s WR

Carnell Tate didn’t have the best combine, but his draft stock is likely still largely intact with plenty of highlights and his impressive yards per game jump in his final college season. To many, he remains a top prospect who won’t have to wait long during the NFL draft at the end of April.

However, that doesn’t mean he will be picked ahead of almost everyone, either. Still, with plenty of teams needing wide receivers, those teams could do much worse than the Ohio State star.

Here’s a look at five logical teams that could spend a pick on Tate.

Carnell Tate Landing Spots That Make Sense

    #1 – Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are moving on from Deebo Samuel, and Terry McLaurin isn’t getting any younger. As such, the time for the team to go hard in the NFL draft is now. Tate could learn from McLaurin and give the offense a window with two 1,000-yard receivers. With lots on the line for Jayden Daniels to prove his rookie season wasn’t a fluke, adding offensive weapons will be a must.

    #2 – Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are planning to release Darnell Mooney, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport via a Thursday report by NFL Media. As such, Atlanta will need a receiver to place under Drake London on the depth chart. Tate could add another layer to the passing offense.

    #3 – Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers could be a team that quietly needs a receiver, with Romeo Doubs expected to hit free agency. Christian Watson and Jayden Reed have had their issues staying on the field, so it might be time for the team to turn the page.

    #4 – Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills just made a move for DJ Moore, but considering the state that the wide receiver room was in at the end of the regular season, Buffalo could double up in the NFL draft with Moore.

    #5 – New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are moving on from Stefon Diggs, which means New England will need another receiver. While a free agency addition makes sense, adding Carnell Tate to add some youth instead to create a mostly drafted offense could be the next move for Eliot Wolf.
