UConn Huskies coach Geno Auriemma and his staff are building the future of their program by recently offering to a high school prospect. Savoury is currently ranked by 247Sports as the fifth nationally-ranked four-star prospect in the high school class of 2027.
The young talent is currently listed at 6’0″, and still has room to grow. With this, college programs view her as a lengthy guard that has the potential to turn into a two-way standout. For now, Savoury is best known for her outside shot and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year during her junior season.
On Tuesday, May 26, Belleville High School guard Sydney Savoury announced that Auriemma and company had given her an offer after they had a great conversation.
Savoury has also had experience playing under a Team USA camp, as she was invited to attend both the 2026 Women’s U18 National Team training camp and the 2026 Women’s Junior National Team April minicamp. The Belleville, Michigan native now enters her final year of high school hoops, and is yet to make an announcement on her college basketball commitment.

If Savoury does end up joining the coach Auriemma’s team, then she can be part of the winningest women’s college hoops program of all time. Under the tutelage of a legendary coach and his program’s winning ways over the past few decades, Savoury can develop into a potential three-level scorer on the wing with great intangibles on defense. She can then be a cornerstone of the Huskies’ future.
Over the course of her high school tenure, Sydney Savoury has already received a multitude of offers from several established college programs. The UConn Huskies join the likes of the South Carolina Gamecocks, UCLA Bruins, Kentucky Wildcats, and TCU Horned Frogs that have pending offers for Savoury. There have also been reports of Savoury visiting some campuses already, such as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s.
