Following the game, Auriemma commented on Fudd’s performance, noting that it was a big moment for the senior guard who missed most of last season due to an ACL injury.
“This is a big moment for her. It really was. She hasn’t played in a long time and hasn’t been in this scenario in a long time. And for her to have the kind of games that she had, this was big,” he said.
“It really goes a long way towards pushing her forward. I’m sure she had some doubts whether, ‘Do I still have it in me?’ So I was—I was really proud of her,” Auriemma continued per On3.
With the win, UConn jumped to No. 5 AP Top 25 poll and has now improved to 24-3 overall and 12-0 in the Big East. The Huskies next be in action against Seton Hall in a Big East matchup Wednesday night.
