Tennessee vs. Texas Women’s Basketball Prediction, Starting Lineup And Injury Report Ft. Mia Pauldo

After a lopsided 16-point loss against Vanderbilt on Thursday, the Texas Longhorns are aiming to bounce back with a win. However, they will be facing the team that overtook them as the No. 3 in the SEC standings, the Tennessee Volunteers, which will be missing one of their most promising freshmen guards during this Sunday showdown.

Tennessee is 8-2 in the SEC, while Texas has dropped down to 8-3 after losing to Vandy, with the team falling out of the top four in the AP Poll after that loss. The Longhorns are now in a must-win situation against the Vols as they continue to seek a No. 1 seed during the National Championship Tournament in March, better known as March Madness.

Tennessee vs. Texas Women’s Basketball Starting Lineups

    Tennessee Volunteers

    • C Alyssa Latham
    • F Zee Spearman
    • F Janiah Barker
    • G Nya Robertson
    • G Talaysia Cooper

    Texas Longhorns

    • C Justice Carlton
    • F Breya Cunningham
    • F Madison Booker
    • G Jordan Lee
    • G Rori Harmon

As many would expect, Janiah Barker would be the biggest threat for Tennessee, though Nya Robertson and Alyssa Latham are no slouches either. They also have Deniya Prawl giving a big spark off the bench, as with freshman Mia Pauldo.

For Texas, Madison Booker and Rori Harmon remain dangerous threats, and they could be more dangerous after being backed into a corner after that loss to Vanderbilt.

Tennessee vs. Texas Women’s Basketball Injury Report

    Tennessee Volunteers

    • Mia Pauldo: Out, Undisclosed injury

    Texas Longhorns

    • No injured player listed

One half of the dynamic backcourt duo of the Pauldo twins will not be playing for Tennessee on Sunday, as she is out with an undisclosed injury. Still, this is not too big of a loss for the Vols, though their opponents will be a lot healthier as Texas has confirmed none of its players is injured coming into Sunday’s big game.

Tennessee vs. Texas Women’s Basketball Prediction

After that tough loss to Vanderbilt, Texas has something to prove, as the Longhorns now need to claw their way back to a possible No. 1 seed in the upcoming national tournament. Basically, they have everything to lose and everything to gain during this game, which makes them even more dangerous, so this game should result in a win for Texas.
