Tennessee Lady Vols Roster Turnover: Full List of Transfers and Departures

In one of the most shocking developments regarding the transfer portal, the Tennessee Lady Vols, one of the most storied programs in women’s basketball, has retained zero players this year under Kim Caldwell.

Every single player on this year’s roster has left, and to make matters worse, a five-star high school recruit has even decommitted after a lot of players revealed that they were leaving.

Eight players, including all four of their freshmen, are leaving via the transfer portal. Four players are graduating seniors, so they will surely be leaving, plus one more player left earlier in the season due to Kim Caldwell’s actions, and then another was kicked off the team by Caldwell earlier in the season for marijuana possession.

This now leaves the Tennessee Lady Vols with zero players. These are who they are:

Tennessee Lady Vols Players Leaving or Have Left the Program This Season

    Outgoing Seniors

    • Zee Spearman
    • Janiah Barker
    • Nya Robertson
    • Jersey Wolfenbarger

    Leaving Via the Transfer Portal

    • Talaysia Cooper
    • Mia Pauldo
    • Mia Pauldo
    • Alyssa Latham
    • Kaniya Boyd
    • Deniya Prawl
    • Lauren Hurst
    • Jaida Civil

    Left Earlier During The Season

    • Ruby Whitehorn (dismissed for marijuana possession)
    • Kaiya Wynn (left after feeling disrespected during Tennessee’s Senior Day)

    High School Decommit

    • Oliviyah Edwards (No. 5-ranked 5-star Recruit)

This is a massive blow to the program, especially as such a turnover could turn off both high school recruits and transfer portal prospects. There had been a lot of turmoil happening within the team, with Kaiya Wynn infamously leaving after Kim Caldwell refused to let her play during Seniors Night, leaving her feeling disrespected. It was then all downhill from there.

Tennessee then lost one game after another before limping into the NCAA Tournament, only to lose in the first round against NC State. Despite making it to March Madness, the Tennessee Lady Vols still lost eight in a row to end their season.

Still, there is some hope, as high school prospect Gabby Minus seems to still be holding on to her commitment to the Lady Vols for now.
