“She Said I Was Flavourless”: Paige Bueckers’ Once Revealed GF Azzi Fudd’s Blunt Early Impression of Ex UConn Star

Paige Bueckers confirmed in July that she was dating her former UConn teammate, Azzi Fudd. While the two grew close during their time with the Huskies, they first met at a USA Basketball U16 camp in high school.

In a video shared by “Now This Impact” on social media on Tuesday, a clip showed Bueckers revealing what Fudd initially said to her during their early impressions of each other.

“She said I was flavorless,” Bueckers said about Fudd. “She didn’t know I had flavor.”

When Bueckers shared her comments about Fudd, both players were at UConn. Nonetheless, the good news is that Fudd’s opinion of Bueckers changed after she got to know the UConn legend better.

Bueckers spent five seasons at UConn from 2020 to 2025. She missed the entire 2022-23 season due to an ACL injury.

However, Bueckers left as a Huskies legend, winning the national title in her final collegiate game. She also won three  Big East Player of the Year awards.

The Dallas Wings took Bueckers as the top pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.

Fudd, on the other hand, committed to UConn in 2021. She is in her fifth year with the program.

Fudd was named the NCAA Tournament MOP last season amid UConn’s championship success. She will be aiming to help the Huskies defend their crown this season, albeit without Bueckers.

Fudd is considered one of the top prospects who might get drafted this year, so she will be aiming to boost her stock in the final stretch of her college career.

Paige Bueckers was Named WNBA Rookie of the Year in The 2025 Season

Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year in the 2025 season. It’s fair to say that the former UConn player lived up to the hype of being the No. 1 selection.

In her rookie season with the Wings, Bueckers averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game across 36 appearances for the WNBA franchise. She also made it to the WNBA All-Star game.
