WATCH: Paige Bueckers’ Brother Drew Follows Sister’s Footsteps With Similar Shot in School

The basketball world has seen Paige Bueckers taking the basketball court by storm. Now, her half-brother, Drew, is following up on her sister’s footsteps at his own level on the basketball court. Like Bueckers, Drew is also interested in basketball, playing in youth events and camps.

On Wednesday, SportsCenter released side-by-side footage of Bueckers and Drew. On one side, Bueckers’ WNBA highlight is being shown and on the other, Drew is seen using a similar technique out of Paige’s playbook to shoot successfully.

Drew was born in 2013 to Paige’s dad, Bob Bueckers, and his partner, Moe Roberts. Paige has three half-siblings total: Drew, Ryan, and Lauren.

The relationship between Paige and Drew is reportedly close as the Dallas Wings considers him as “best friend.” Drew regularly attends Paige’s basketball games, supports her, and also appears on her social media posts. Before UConn’s national championship game last season, he even shared a heartfelt message:

“I just wanted to congratulate you on everything you did. Helping our family, making us proud, all the adversity y’all went through and all of the ups and downs,” Drew said via The Players’ Tribune. “You’re such a great role model to me ’cause you help people, you’re funny, you’re kind and you’re always there for others. I love you so much. Good luck in the championship game! We love you. Go Huskies.”

Drew Big Reason Behind Paige Bueckers’ Advocacy For Social Justice

Drew is biracial and this is a big reason why Paige Bueckers advocates for racial equality and Black Lives Matter. The cause is deeply personal to her because of him. Five years ago, Paige shared several nostalgic photos with Drew while highlighting the negative side of society.

“At what point do they stop looking at my little brother as a cute little boy and instead as a threat to society? It scares me. I’m going to work for change little brother. I want you to grow up in world that accepts you for who you are. I am committed to help making a change for the better. It’s time to step up and act in unity because WE ARE THE CHANGE,” she wrote in the caption.

Thanks to Paige Bueckers’ personality, Drew is catching attention for his similar basketball skills and confident personality.
