Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd first made their relationship public when they led Geno Auriemma’s UConn to their record 12th national championship. Former UConn teammates officially confirmed they were dating in July 2025. WNBA draft was the first time the couple “hard launched.”
Paige was then drafted as the no 1 pick in 2025 WNBA draft by the Dallas Wings. While people were intrusive, curious and just happy for the young couple, the players stood their ground about focusing on their respective playing careers. Paige wanted to make her rookie season in the WNBA a success and Azzi Fudd wanted to win back to back NCAA title.
As Azzi Fudd joined the Dallas Wings, the questions about their relationship were asked by the media. Neither of them wanted to make a comment. While Dallas Wings representative dismissed any personal questions to Azzi, Paige sternly said that they demand privacy. Following that, Geno Auriemma has made a comment about his former UConn stars.
“Me advise somebody how to handle off the court stuff?” Geno said sarcastically with a smile on his face, “You know me, I am starting a consulting firm. 101 way… media savvy dummies. That’s what it’s going to be called.”
“You know, I think Paige had the best quote out of all of them. What I do in my personal life is my own business and nobody else’s business. And I believe that. And as far as I am concerned, they’re two great people that have come through our program and done amazing things while they’re here and whatever else they do that’s a personal matter for them,” he concluded.
What did Paige Bueckers say about her relationship with Azzi Fudd?
Over the course of last year, there have been minimal public acceptance or evidence of their on-going relationship. There were no comments on each other’s posts, no pictures together, no public sightings.
Rumors of a break up spread. However, when Dallas Wings drafted Azzi Fudd as their no 1 pick to team her up with Paige, questions about their relationship started again.
To these questions, Paige answered, “Quite frankly, I believe me and Azzi’s personal relationship is nobody’s business but our own, and what we choose to share is completely up to us.”
