Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings drafted her former UConn partner Azzi Fudd as the first pick in this year’s draft. It took some time for Fudd to settle in, but she has found some form with the Wings. However, it has still been a topsy-turvy start for Dallas. To fix some issues in the roster, one fan suggested a trade option.
The fan posted on Threads that the Wings should bring in Phoenix Mercury’s Natasha Mack and let their Arike Ogunbowale go. There were a few reactions to the suggestion but the most important one was of Mack herself.
“Huhhhhhh???” Mack replied with a 1 word response.

The fans were quick to dismiss any possibility of such a trade happening. The majority of the reactions were in favor of Mack staying in Phoenix.
“Nah, we don’t play about the Mack Truck. She’s staying right here in PHX where she belongs,” one fan said.

“Absolutely not! Take it back!” Another exclaimed.

“No thank you! Mack is good where she’s at!” Another said.

“If Phoenix traded Mack, it would be for a center and definitely not for another guard. But no thanks to both,” one fan explained.

“She’s like leave me out of it. She loves her team,” another fan claimed.

Arike Ogunbowale has struggled this season. She is only averaging 13.5 points, 3 rebounds and 2.9 assists, a letdown by her standards.
Azzi Fudd makes WNBA history
Fudd has now broken a 29-year-old WNBA record. She became the fastest guard to reach 50 steals + blocks since 1997. She has 51 steals + blocks and it only took her 18 games to achieve the feat.
“I feel like defense is one of the more controllable things,” Fudd said about her defensive success. “I feel like it’s mostly effort. So when I’m on the floor, I’m like I might not know when or where I’m gonna get the ball, if I’m gonna make shots that day, can’t control whether the ball’s going or not. But I can control. Can I keep my man in front of me like I’m boxing out, am I spinning the floor, so just those little things I’m taking pride in,” she added.
Azzi Fudd is averaging 13.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.
