Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace said all the positive things when asked about the recent national success his girlfriend, UCLA Bruins star Kiki Rice, accomplished.
On Sunday, Rice and the rest of coach Cori Close’s UCLA Bruins beat Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks 79-51 in the national championship game on neutral grounds, the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
In a video uploaded by user @RTNBA on X/Twitter on Tuesday, Wallace was asked during a media availability about Rice’s squad’s title win. This is because Rice and company captured their program’s first-ever NCAA title.
Wallace felt great seeing Rice realize her dreams.
“ Oh, that was great. It was fun just seeing her live out her dreams and, you know, she was very excited and happy…Yeah, I mean, she works every day, a lot of work, and she’s consistent with it. So for her to, you know, have those achievements and her hard work paying off is great,” Wallace said.
The Bruins finished their 2025-26 campaign with an overall record of 37-1 (18-0 Big Ten). Wallace is also a recent champion, as he and his Oklahoma-based franchise won the 2025 NBA championship.
Kiki Rice Said Her Team’s NCAA Title Berth Was A Display Of Their Ascension
In an article by Marisa Ingemi, published on Los Angeles Times on Sunday, a quote from Kiki Rice is included as she was asked about her team’s NCAA championship victory.
Rice asserted that how they played against the South Carolina Gamecocks was a testament to their resilience, eventually leading to their overall ascension.
“Today was just a fantastic display of our resilience and intensity that we came out with. Just our will to win. We knew, we had a feeling this was our time, this was our year. We came out there this entire weekend, and we would not be denied. This is literally so incredible. This is everything that we came here to do. And I’m so proud of every single person,” Rice was quoted as saying.
