    JuJu Watkins’ Comments About UConn Reemerge as NET Rankings Drop

    The UConn women’s basketball team has once again acquired the top spot in the NET rankings. Following the rankings announcement, a notable reaction from USC Trojans star JuJu Watkins resurfaced.

    An X user reacted to the latest NET rankings, which show UConn at the top, followed by UCLA, South Carolina, Texas, and LSU. The user also shared a reaction from USC Trojans star JuJu Watkins, who once said:

    “UConn always has the #1 net ranking every year.”

    UConn is currently the top-ranked team in the NCAA NET metrics. The Huskies are unbeaten after 25 games this season.

    NET stands for NCAA Evaluation Tool, which the Selection Committee uses to assess how each team is performing and their position for March Madness at any given point in the season.  As per the NCAA, the NET “takes into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses.”

    Where Do The UConn Huskies Stand in the WAB Rankings?

    There is another measure used by the NCAA to analyze the competitiveness of the teams and this is called WAB rankings. WAB stands for Wins Above Bubble.

    WAB measures how many wins a team has earned compared to what a “bubble team” would be expected to earn against the same schedule. A bubble team is one that is on the edge of making the NCAA Tournament.
