There are big moves underway at Iowa State. Five Cyclones have joined the transfer portal and will be leaving Ames. Addy Brown, who became a staple with the team’s starting lineup over the past three seasons, leads the group as the most significant player leaving.
However, the other players leaving are important pieces of the rotation, and their departure will still impact the Cyclones.
Here’s the complete list of Iowa State’s women’s basketball players leaving Ames this offseason so far.

| Reese Beaty | G | Fr. | 3 Years | Appeared in 27 games; averaged 4.6 PPG, 2.6 RPG, and 3.3 APG. |

Other players still seem undecided as to whether to return or not. Key among them is First-team All-Big 12 and Second Team All-American selection Audi Brooks, who was one of the best players in the nation during the regular season.
While she hasn’t announced that she’s transferring, she’s uncommitted to a third season with the school after the Cyclones’ early tournament NCAA Tournament elimination to Syracuse in the first round.
Addy Brown’s Statement About Her Departure From Iowa State
On Wednesday, junior forward Addy Brown shared a statement through her account explaining the reasoning behind her decision to leave the Iowa State Cyclones. It’s plenty clear, this is a decision she gave plenty of thought to:
“These past three years have meant everything to me… Cyclone Nation. I have always felt your love and support. You truly bring the energy to Hilton each and every game, and that is what makes playing at Iowa State such a special experience. To my coaches, staff, and everyone who has poured into me. thank you for believing in me and helping me grow… I’m grateful for how Iowa State has shaped me both on and off the court. This decision comes after a lot of thought about my future and goals… I believe this is the right step for me and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
Through three seasons as a starter with the Cyclones, she averaged 13.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. For her efforts in 2023-24, she earned Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors.
