LOOK: South Carolina Star Raven Johnson Shows Off Stylish Hair Do Ahead of Sweet 16 Showdown

The South Carolina Gamecocks are a few days away from their Sweet 16 encounter with SEC rival school, the Oklahoma Sooners. It seems like Raven Johnson wants to be there in style when they meet at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

The senior star shared her latest hairstyle update on her Instagram story, days before the Gamecocks’ game on Saturday against the Sooners. In the short video, Johnson could be seen proudly flaunting her hairstyle for her fans to see.

South Carolina is coming from a commanding victory over the USC Trojans in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Gamecocks won the game 101-61, with Raven Johnson scoring seven points, while also recording two rebounds and four assists. The game’s top scorer was Joyce Edwards with 26 points.

The game also happened to be the final home game for Johnson, and the one in which she scored her point No. 1000.

While the game might have been an emotional milestone for her and the team overall, it’s clear that Raven Johnson’s mind is set on the future and on one final achievement before the end of her college years.

When asked about what the game meant to her, she pivoted directly to what’s ahead and the possibility of winning another national championship with the South Carolina Gamecocks:

“I’m worried about winning a National Championship,” she said plainly. “That’s the main goal, so, yeah, whatever comes with it, comes with it.”

Johnson has received plenty of praise from Dawn Staley this season for what she means to the team and for the specific arc the program has gone on during the 2020s so far. She’s seen as the last of a core group of players that allowed Staley to lead South Carolina to two national title wins, and her departure is seen as the end of an era. The only other player still on the team that could claim to be part of that core group is Chloe Kitts, who will return for another season after missing 2025-26 with an injury.

Johnson was part of the 2022 and 2024 national title wins, but it seems she wants to add 2026 to her list of achievements before she leaves.
