Azzi Fudd has been a part of Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies since 2021. A five-star recruit, Fudd has established herself as one of the best players in the world in the last few years. This is her final season with the Huskies.
Fudd and the Huskies have been on an unbeaten run this season and are one of the strongest contenders for the NCAA title. She won her first NCAA title in 2025 and was also the NCAA Tournament MOP.
Before she could dominate on the court, Fudd suffered an ACL injury in November 2023. But she has overcome the setback and has made a huge impact on the program. She is having the best season of her career, averaging 17.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game while shooting nearly 49% from the field and 44.6% from the three-point line.
During a recent appearance on Good Morning America alongside Sarah Strong and coach Geno, host Robin Roberts praised Fudd for being a “model of perseverance” for going through injuries and coming back stronger every time.
Sitting next to her teammate and her coach, Fudd was bound to get a comment from them. In response to Roberts’ praise, coach Geno whispered “model”, making fun of the 23-year-old, while Strong said, “Wow.”
It was a lighthearted moment, not meant to be taken seriously. Roberts didn’t address it either, and Fudd went on to answer her question about this being her final chance to win another title with the Huskies.
“Super excited and super grateful,” she said. “Like coach said, just taking it day by day and being present and just enjoying it all.”
Roberts also praised Fudd’s fashion sense, which has been in the limelight this season.
Azzi Fudd’s Style is Also Making Headlines
There’s no denying that Fudd has developed into a great player over the last few years. Her numbers are higher than they’ve ever been, and she’s on track to be a top pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft.
Other than her game, Fudd is also making waves with her style. Ros Gold-Onwude of the ‘Court Vision’ podcast recently said that the UConn star stole the show with her Unrivaled game courtside appearance.
“One thing I also admire and have also been noticing about her, her nails are always cute,” she said. “With everything you’re doing on the court, how are you keeping them so upkept?”
Fudd is also collaborating with major brands, capitalizing on her popularity.
