Azzi Fudd is one of the main contributors on the UConn Huskie Women’s basketball team and is playing in her final collegiate season of her career.
Throughout her college career, Fudd has been a two-time First-Team All-Big East selection, First-Team All-American, NCAA Tournament MOP, and NCAA Champion. She is the catalyst to UConn’s 34-0 team right now that is favored to win the national championship.
As Fudd’s time at UConn is coming close to an end, she wrote what she’s going to take with her out of her experience at UConn to the WNBA team that drafts her.
Fudd wrote:
“UConn doesn’t allow anything below excellence. But also, as a unit, we don’t allow each other to give anything but our best effort. Those are things I want to take with me when I’m part of a new program. I’m on time, I have my routine, and I’m being presentable. Someone the coaching staff at UConn will be proud of.”
Throughout her career at UConn, Fudd has averaged 14.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
UConn Opens As Heavy Favorite To Win NCAA Tournament
Will anybody beat UConn this season? The Huskies enter the 2026 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament with a perfect 34-0 record with no hiccups in the regular season.
When the bracket was revealed, the Huskies opened up as -270 favorites. The team with the next-best odds is UCLA, at +550, showing a sizable gap.
UConn’s first-round matchup will be held this Saturday, March 21 at the Gampel Pavillion in Storrs, Connecticut against UTSA. UConn is currently a huge 54.5-point favorite.
With the experience and veteran leadership the Huskies have in Fudd and Sarah Strong mixed in with arguably the greatest coach of all-time in Geno Auriemma, it’s tough to see this UConn team not repeat as national champions.
